ELENA: CHRISTINA BENNETT LIND

East-Coaster living on the West coast. Born a twin and a younger sister to painter/educator father and dance teacher/educator mother. Festival of Trees in Albany a fixture. Guilderland Ballet’s ‘Shoe’ tree and late-afternoon tree decorating a distant but potent memory, along with the gingerbread houses at the center room; the smell of sugar, the cruelty of not being able to taste it.  Fat Black Cat for as long as I can remember and first mysterious pet loss that taught me the strange sensation of guilt and loss for being too busy to investigate. Always made movies in my head and work as a television and theatre actor, few films sprinkled in. Some distant but potent memories of drawing for fun and the loss and guilt associated with ‘art becoming work.’ Theatre company took me traveling, for which I will always be grateful. I believe in ugly as beautiful and integrity, and the intensely powerful patterns of habit. Be cheerful, strive to be happy, end the procrastination, and start the collective.
